Community Recreation Grant

The City of Pembroke is pleased to offer the Community Recreation Grant, aimed at supporting non-profit organizations, volunteer-based groups, and charitable projects that provide recreation and community-building opportunities. This funding can be used for a variety of initiatives, including program development, event execution, or capital projects. Organizations are eligible to apply for up to $5,000. The application deadline for this year is April 1, 2026.

Appendix A: Evaluation Matrix Checklist

Each application must be evaluated upon receipt for eligibility and completeness prior to scoring. The following criteria must be met to be deemed a complete application. (Please check each to acknowledge criteria.)

The application is not a request to cover deficits or retire debts, increase endowment funds, fund activities that serve primarily the membership or purposes of religious or political organizations, fund projects/events that are already completed, duplicate an existing program, fund the City’s strategic partners in additional capacities (at the discretion of the Director), or receive in-kind City staff support.

The applicant does not have any outstanding reporting requirements from previous grants received.

The organization will use the funding for events, programs, or initiatives within the City of Pembroke.

The organization has not submitted more than one application for the current funding window.

The organization (or sponsoring organization) has been in operation for at least one year.

The organization must be operating as a not-for-profit organization within the City of Pembroke.
