The City of Pembroke has a number of Committees and Boards that serve the community and help advise and inform the Mayor and Councillors on matters that affect the public. At the beginning of each term of Council, appointments are made to the City’s Committees and Boards. Over the course of the term, additional appointments may be made.
The City of Pembroke invites residents who are interested in serving on one of the City’s available committees for the remainder of the 2022-2026 Council term to submit an application. Applications will be received on an ongoing basis until all positions are filled.
In 2028, the City of Pembroke will celebrate 200 years since its founding — a milestone to honour our community’s past, celebrate the present, and inspire the future. Planning is now underway for a full year of events, projects, and legacy initiatives that will highlight Pembroke’s history, people, and culture.
We’re inviting community members to take part by joining one of our Bicentennial Working Groups. These groups will help shape key parts of the celebration, from events and heritage projects to community engagement, beautification, and promotion. We’re looking for enthusiastic residents, community leaders, artists, historians, and volunteers who want to share ideas, lend their skills, and help make this once-in-a-generation celebration a success.
The City of Pembroke is currently seeking applications for:
- Bicentennial Community Engagement and Education Working Group
- Foster participation, pride, and ownership among residents, students, and community organizations.
- Bicentennial Funding and Partnerships Working Group
- Secure sustainable funding through a combination of City investment, grants, sponsorships, and donations.
