2026 Youth Award Nomination Form

The City of Pembroke Youth Award recognizes the dedication and contributions of youth within the City.

Eligibility: 

In order to be eligible, a nominee must be a resident of the City of Pembroke or a dependent of a ratepayer of the City of Pembroke and must be 19 years of age or under as of May 31, 2026.  Nominations can come from teachers, friends, social/community workers and others. Nominators and nominees cannot be members of the same household. Nominators can not be City Officals. Organizations and individuals may nominate more than one young person.

Awards Celebration

A Special Awards Celebration for the Civic Awards and Youth Awards will be held at the begining of june at the Best Western Hotel in Pembroke. A bursary in the amount of three hundred dollars ($300) plus a Certificate of Merit indicating the recipient and sponsor will be presented to each Youth Award Recipient.

Notification of Recipients

All recipients will be notified by phone or email prior to the Awards Celebration.

Deadline

All entries must be received by 4:00 p.m., Monday, April 30th, 2026.

Return of Entries

All entries become the property of The City of Pembroke

Award Categories

DETERMINATION – A role model for others and a person who maintains high ethical standards in difficult situations.

ARTS & LITERATURE – Enriching others through creativity, skills and originality in such activities as music, dance, acting and the visual arts.

LEADERSHIP – Demonstrating leadership, marked determination, creativity and a degree of achievement.

YOUNG ATHLETES – It does not have to be the first person across the finish line or the gold medalist, rather the recipient of the award will demonstrate skills, devotion, sportsmanship and “class” under pressure.

COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTIONS – Improving the community through action, education and service.  It may be the young advocate or volunteer that goes the distance to make the world a better place.  This is also about citizenship, inspiration, diversity and leadership.
